Draft Strategy and Action Plan for Adapting to the Effects of Climate Change in Luxembourg

On November 15, 2024, the Council of Government approved a draft strategy for adapting to the effects of climate change. This project aims to prepare Luxembourg for the inevitable impacts of climate change, enhance its resilience, and reduce its vulnerability to these changes.

The Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, in collaboration with relevant ministries, has proposed 131 concrete measures across 16 political action fields. To refine these measures, the government has approved a consultation of the public, which will include thematic workshops with stakeholders from both the private and public sectors.

The Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity is organising these workshops in partnership with: CELL (Citizens for Ecological Learning & Living), EBL (Ëmweltberodung Lëtzebuerg), IMS Luxembourg (Inspiring More Sustainability Luxembourg), and Klima-Bündnis Lëtzebuerg.

These organisations facilitate the thematic workshops, creating spaces for reflection and exchange. The results of these workshops are compiled by the partner organisations and submitted to the respective ministries for integration into the adaptation strategy.

The consultation of the public will take place online from April 2 to May 14 and is open to all. Additionally, five workshops are being organised for the public.
